“The worst lies are the lies we tell ourselves. We live in denial of what we do, even what we think. We do this because we’re afraid. We fear we will not find love, and when we find it we fear we’ll lose it. We fear that if we don’t have love we will be unhappy.”
Richard Bach
What a terrible sight it is…to see someone lie to themselves. Not that lying in any form is a good recourse, however there is something more disturbing about watching someone lie to themselves. Not only are they the originator of the lie but the author of the lie as well. What draws further concern is their ability to create a false reality rather than dealing with the truth. Don’t you feel sorry for people that feel that they are not good enough to be themselves? Why, because the lie they may tell today, becomes the altered truth they believe tomorrow. To be clear, the truth could never exist if dishonesty resides in it.
In society today, statements such as “it was only a little white lie or “half truths” have become the norm in today’s vernacular. However, no matter what the shade of the lie is, it is still a whole lie and the truth should never be confused with it.
Unlike statements of fact, which require no further work on our part, lies must be continually protected from collisions with reality.”
Sam Harris
1 John 4:18 New International Version (NKJV)
“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.“
Unfortunately, there is no truth serum for lying, it has to be a conscious agreement within oneself to walk in truth. Then and only then will the truth shall set you free. Liars also must become accustomed to the benefits of honesty. To be free of the lies is to be uninhibited, carefree, and liberated from all that comes from the weight of telling lies.
Now, the real question is are you ready to hear, the truth the whole true and nothing but the truth about yourself?
